What does an installation work order hold?
The order says who does what, where and when. The job card says what was done. Together they answer the questions that come back months later:
- Which device, SIM and seal went on which vehicle, and on what date.
- Who installed it, with which training certificate, if any.
- Which accessories were fitted and where each sits.
- What the device did on the day you left.
Wiring checks that prevent callbacks
Most "the device does not report" calls start with a connection made in a hurry: a switched supply that dies with the key, a ground on painted metal, a fuse far from the supply, a splice that loosens. Part 5 puts each of these on a line with Pass, Fail or N/A, and asks for the measured voltage where it matters.
The fuse rating is not printed in the file. Write the value from the datasheet of your device model.
Photos and tests as proof
Ten photos are listed, each with a line for the file name. Twelve functional tests follow: power, ignition on and off, position, data at the server, SIM and signal, and the accessories that are fitted.
The test list is general. When you hold the official Tracom test list for your device model, replace or extend Part 7 with it.
The handover certificate
It has two statements, one for the installer and one for the customer, then the warranty start date, a field for a provider or operator authorisation number if one is required where you operate, and a tick line for a tracking sticker where local rules ask for one. Check the current official text of those rules yourself.
Limits of this template
It records an install. It does not prove that an installer is qualified, and it does not replace the vehicle maker's instructions, your safety rules or a legal review. The warranty terms stay in your own policy.
