What is an immobilizer installation record?
A remote cut-off is a small relay that opens one wire when a tracker says so. The installation record is the paper that shows what was cut, how it was wired, what was tested and what the customer was told. If a vehicle stops at the wrong time, it is the first document everyone asks for.
How to use the template
- Plan the wiring with the planner: relay, fuse, contact and the safe-cut rules.
- Set your limits in section 5 from your policy, after your legal review.
- Fill one record per vehicle while you install. Write the source of every rating.
- Run the test standing and tick each result. Do not test by driving.
- Brief the customer and get Part 2 signed.
- Keep the record with the job file.
Why the fail-safe check matters
If the cut wire is on the normally closed contact (87a), a tracker that loses power leaves the circuit connected, so the vehicle keeps running. On a normally open contact the same fault would cut the engine, including on the road. The check list asks for the contact used, the fuse and the wire rating, the diode and the tracker power-loss test, so a reviewer can see each answer.
The safe-cut test
The eight tests are all run with the vehicle standing, the parking brake on and the area clear. They check the warning, the cut, the restore, the fuse-pull and restart cases, the speed rule setting and the command log. The speed rule is checked in the settings, not by driving.
Use the cut-off wiring planner to size the relay and the fuse first.
The customer acknowledgement
Part 2 is starting text. Responsibility, passengers, dangerous goods and data depend on the law and the contracts that apply to you. Your legal adviser writes or approves that wording.
Limits
The template is neutral. It does not claim to meet any rule or standard, it is not issued or endorsed by any authority, and it gives no pinout for any device. It is a starting point that you must adapt, review and approve.
