Two datasheets never use the same words. Put two to four trackers or MDVRs in one grid, set your requirement for each row and let the sheet say Meets, Below or No data. Then read which device meets every must-have.
Free: enter your name and email and we send you the file. English and Arabic. The vendor columns are blank on purpose. Works in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice Calc.

Rules
Four rules decide every check
Pick the rule per row. The check columns then read Meets, Below, Above, Differs, Check value or No data.
Rule ≥
The device value must be at least your requirement. Memory, battery, channels, warranty.
Rule ≤
The device value must be at most your requirement. Lowest voltage, lowest temperature, sensitivity in dBm, lead time.
Rule =
The device must say the same thing. Yes or No rows and text you type exactly.
Rule Info
No check. Use it to store text such as the supplier name or the bands.

Why put every device in one grid?
One datasheet quotes sensitivity in dBm, another talks about a cold-start time, a third leaves the backup battery out. Side by side on the same rows, the gaps show up. A blank cell is an answer too: it means the supplier did not say.
How to use it
Name the devices. Fill Supplier and Model name. A column counts only after its model name is entered.
Set your requirement. Type it, choose the rule, and mark the rows that are must-haves.
Copy the supplier figures. From the datasheet or the quote, with the document and page in Source.
Read the Result sheet. Share of requirements met and the verdict on the must-haves.
Certificates and approvals
Copy only what the supplier's documents show, with the number and expiry date. Ask the issuing body or your regulator to confirm it if your tender requires. The file does not state that any device holds an approval.
Blank by design.
The file holds no competitor product and no Tracom figures. Every number comes from the documents you hold, so you can defend each one.
Limits
A datasheet states what a device can do under test conditions. The matrix compares claims. It does not test a device, so ask for a trial unit before you decide.
Related Tracom solution
Put a Tracom device in the grid
Ask Tracom for the datasheet of the ST100 tracker or the M1N MDVR and fill its column like any other. We answer the rows the datasheet covers and tell you which ones it does not.
No. The device columns are empty. The worked example uses three imaginary devices with made-up figures.
How many devices can I compare?
Two to four. A column counts only after you enter its model name.
What does the Rule column do?
It tells the sheet how to compare: at least your value, at most your value, or the same. Info rows are not checked.
Does the matrix compare prices?
No. It compares what the datasheets say. Put the prices side by side in a quote comparison, after you know which devices meet your must-haves.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload the .xlsx file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. It also works in Excel and LibreOffice Calc.
What is Tracom's role here?
Tracom makes tracking and video hardware. The matrix is neutral and compares what suppliers state. It does not say that any product, Tracom's included, meets a standard or holds an approval.

Want the Tracom column filled in?
Send us the rows that matter for your tender. We will answer from the datasheet and say where it is silent.
