What does the Iraq CMC license fee calculator do?
If your fleet runs GPS tracking in Iraq, a yearly license fee applies that depends on how many devices run, and the license has to be renewed before it ends. Both are easy to get wrong when the fee table lives in a PDF.
This calculator takes your own fee table, finds the tier that holds your device count, adds modification and storage licenses, and shows the yearly cost and the cost per device. It also works out your filing deadline from the expiry date, shows a verdict, and gives you a calendar file with reminders. A third tab lists the items to confirm.
The fee table ships with example amounts so you can see a result. They may differ from the current official fees. Replace them with the amounts from the Communications and Media Commission before you rely on any number.

How is the license fee calculated?
Annual fee by tier
Renewal date
A flat fee per tier means the cost per device falls inside a tier and jumps when you cross into the next one. Dates are calendar dates, and a license counts as valid through its expiry date.
Worked example: 600 devices
The page opens with example amounts in one currency. They are placeholders, not official fees.
- 600 devices fall in tier 3, which covers 501 to 1,000 devices. The example tier fee is 1,300,000.
- One modification license and one storage license at 100,000 each add 200,000. The total is 1,500,000 a year, or 2,500 per device.
- The next tier starts at 1,001 devices, 401 more than you run. In the example table it costs 2,600,000, which is 1,300,000 more.
- The license expires on 31 December 2026 and the controls ask for 30 days. The filing deadline is 1 December 2026.
- Reminders 30 and 7 days before the deadline fall on 1 November and 24 November.
How to read your results
- The estimated cost is the tier fee plus the modification and storage licenses you entered.
- The tier ladder shows how close you are to the next tier, where the fee steps up.
- The verdict compares today with your filing deadline and with the expiry date.
- The checklist is a list to verify. Ticking an item does not make it true.
Common mistakes
- Keeping the example amounts. Replace every one with the current official amount.
- Counting the wrong devices. Check which devices the controls count.
- Using expiry as the deadline. The filing deadline comes earlier.
- Trusting an old document. Check the date and the current version before you file.
- Forgetting to update the date. Enter the new expiry date after each renewal.
Assumptions and limits
Results are estimates based on the values you enter. The page ships no official fee, period or requirement as a fact. The example tiers, amounts and the 30-day period match a Commission controls document that carries no issue date, checked on 3 Nov 2026. A newer version dated 25 May 2026 is listed on the Commission website but could not be opened, so verify them against the current official text. The calculator does not file anything, does not send email reminders, and is not legal advice. It does not say that any device or provider is approved.
