Notice or consent for a child?
A notice tells parents what you do. A consent asks them to agree. For children, the rules on who may agree, and whether consent is needed at all, depend on the country and on the legal basis the school uses. Many schools lead with a notice and an acknowledgement, and ask for consent only for optional items. This is our reading and it needs legal confirmation for your country. The file follows that structure: Part C confirms receipt and has an optional section.
Where the cameras point
Say plainly where each camera points and when it records. A camera on the aisle, the door and the road is easy to explain. Do not point a camera at a place where children change clothes. Say whether the bus records sound, because many parents care about it, and ask your legal adviser whether you may.
Footage and other children
A clip about one child usually shows other children too. Decide before the first request what you will show, to whom and how. Part D records the request and the decision, and Part F2 logs every time footage is opened.
Live bus location for parents
If parents can follow the bus in an app, say so in the letter. Decide what they see, for example the bus on the map and the estimated arrival, and what they do not see, for example the camera video. Check your platform settings before you promise anything.
Limits of this template
The file gives you structure and wording to edit. It cannot choose your legal basis, say who may consent for a child, judge your retention periods or tell you what your education authority requires. It does not say that your buses or your letter meet any law.
